Cream Angelfish

Care

This is one of the hardiest Angelfish species, and is a good choice for beginners with large fish-only tanks. Whilst not a particularly flashy fish, it is still an attractive species that is fairly passive as far as medium sized Angelfish go. When first introduced to the aquarium, the Cream Angelfish may be a little shy, but it will soon gain boldness and will make full use of the swimming space provided. Be sure to create a few large caves in the rockwork for your Angelfish to retreat into if needed. Keep only one specimen per tank and not with any other Angelfish species, as they will quarrel. Tankmates must be chosen with some care, as small placid fish may be bullied. May also be seen on sale as Indian Yellowtail Angelfish.

Feeding

Should be offered a varied diet including meaty fare such as vitamin/Spirulina-enriched brineshrimp, Mysis shrimp, special sponge-based Angelfish preparations, and finely chopped krill/squid/cockle/mussel, plus Spirulina & marine algae. Feed small amounts 3 times per day.

Breeding

An egglaying species that is unlikely to breed in the home aquarium.
