Since we opened our first store in 1984 a lot of things have changed, even many of the fish. New species have arrived on the scene, as well as established old favourites in a breathtaking range of forms. Here are some key developments.

The LINI foundation has been carrying out their important work in Bali. Earlier this year, the foundation started work with a trial of re-stocking the local reef with cultured clownfish from their breeding centre in Les Village, North Bali. The breeding of marine aquarium species started in 2015 as part of an effort to offer new skills to marine aquarium fishers whose who have been working with LINI since 2010.
LINI is an organisation that was set up in 2008 with the goal of promoting community development through sustainability in Indonesia. It was set up by a small team of dedicated professionals. The LINI foundation (translated as line or connection in Indonesian) is one of the few non-profits currently working towards the development of community-based marine conservation to promote sustainable fisheries in Indonesia.
With the endless days of January now passed, and the nights becoming slightly lighter, our stores are starting to prepare for brighter days of spring ahead and the new pond season on the horizon. Many of our stores who tend to stock-down for pond fish are preparing to re-stock their tanks and we’re busy tidying pond areas and getting shelves ready for our spring stock.
