Why does my anemone move around my tank so much?
Anemones are fairly mobile, it enables them to find the perfect environmental conditions to thrive. It also allows them to take shelter to avoid extreme events such as storm surges that could otherwise damage their delicate bodies.
This means that they will often drift around as they would in nature until they find themselves somewhere more suitable. Sadly this means they may encounter hazards such as powerheads, overflows and other corals within the aquarium.
As there’s a number of species with differing requirements, researching the one that will thrive best in your system can minimise the need for it to feel dissatisfied. Some of them prefer a deep substrate, others thrive best away from corals and all of them tend to have light requirements similar to light-loving corals.
